Making A Thankful Table
Matt Elementary is creating the Making A Thankful Table this year. This will be a food bank for families of Matt Elementary and the Matt community. Students will begin to bring in canned or boxed food items in September. The goal is for each student to bring in 1 food item a month. If this goal is reached, Matt Elementary could collect more than 9,000 food items for this worthy cause. The school will store as much food as possible, and the rest of the food will be donated to community shelters. If you are in need of food to help support your family, please contact the school. We will be glad to serve you. We will begin taking inquires on October 1, 2012. This will give us enough time to collect food from the students.
Here is a list of recommended items to bring into school: canned tuna, canned chicken, canned carrots, canned green beans, canned corn, canned peas, any type of canned fruit, boxed macaroni and cheese, Hamburger Helper, and Tuna Helper.
