Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion
Introduction:  In this Webquest you will explore "A Day Which Will Live in Infamy"  as you discover what happened at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.
Task:   In this Webquest you will complete two products
 
1: You will develop the front page of a newspaper depicting the events of December 7, 1941
 
2:  You will develop your own "eyewitness" account of the attack
 
Activity 1: 
 
1)Go to Naval History Site, click on "This Is Not A Drill"
 
2)Read Newspaper Activity Sheet, A Moment in Time, Recalling Pearl Harbor, Timeline and Action Reports
 
3)After reading, complete a Newpaper Front Page based on these 
 
Activity 2:
 
1) Go to History Place
 
2) Listen to and read along with FDR's "Infamy Speech"
 
3) Think about what FDR is trying to say to the people in this speech, talk about it with your group
 
 
Actviity 3:
 
1)Go to Meet the Eyewitness, read the interview
 
2)Visit these sites Photos, The Arizona, The Aftermath; explore these sites to find information about the results and the aftermath of the attack
 
3) Use what you have learned to complete one of the following 3 activities: 
 
 a: You are a sailor aboard one of the ships on Battleship Row, you survived the attack, after recovering from your injuries you write a letter to your family back home describing the events of the attack and your feelings as they happened
 
b: You are a Hawaiian resident who witnesses the attack from your own home, write a narrative about your experience
 
c: You are a Japanese Pilot preparing for the attack, write a letter to your father describing your feelings and thoughts as you prepare for the attack 
 
Evaluation:  You will be evaluated based on the rubric attached for Product One, and on the quality of your writing for Products Three.
Conclusion:  By the end of this Webquest you should have a deeper understanding about the events of the Attack on Pearl Harbor, the reasons behind their happening, and the impact of the attack on the people who witnessed the attack as well as America and Japan.
