Promotion-Retention Policy

Georgia State Law requires all students in grades 3, 5, and 8 to pass the Criterion Reference Competency Test (CRCT) in the following areas to be promoted.

Grade 3 - Reading only

Grade 5 and 8 - Reading and Math only

Forsyth County Schools Board Policy IHE

Forsyth County Schools provides afterschool and summer school opportunities to all students at risk of not passing the CRCT. A retest opportunity is provided at the conclusion of summer school for all students not passing the main administration in April.
