Welcome to Mrs. Robinson's 5th Grade Class!
Career Day
It is really hard to believe that May is already upon us! This year has flown by and it is now time to look forward to becoming a Grizzly (or a Viper, or a Bulldog, or a Wildcat) There will be several 5th-6th grade transition activities throughout the month, including a visit from the PGMS band and chorus, 6th grade ambassadors, and a tour of Piney Grove.

May will be filled with more project-based learning as we study the decades leading up to today. Small groups will research key people, events and developments of the 1970's, 1980's, 1990's and the 2000's and put together multimedia presentations to share with the class. We'll integrate reading and writing into our group projects. We'll also learn about personal budgeting as we design our Dream Home, using math we've learned along the way.

We'll also travel to the Forsyth County Courthouse to participate in a Fairy Tale Mock Trial. Jack is being put on trial for the murder of the Giant after climbing a beanstalk to his castle and stealing his golden goose. Will he be found guilty or innocent?

We'll also take our trip to Atlanta to visit the CNN center, eat lunch in the food court, and tour Turner Field. What an amazing end to an amazing year!

Please make sure to send in your food order if you'll be joining us for lunch on May 24th as we celebrate with our fifth graders. It will be a wonderful send off to them as they leave elementary school and move on to middle school.
