Bloom's Taxonomy
Fifth grade teachers design quality work and lessons based on
 Bloom's Taxonomy for higher level thinking. Use these to help your child when reviewing work, reading, or working on activities to enhance learning.
KNOWLEDGE:  remembering of previously learned material; recall; bringing to mind
COMPREHENSION:  grasping the meaning of material; interpreting, explaining, summarizing, predicting outcome and effects
APPLICATION ability to use learned material in a new situation; apply rules, laws, methods, theories; knowing when and why to apply
ANALYSIS:  breaking down into parts; understanding, organizing, clarifying, concluding
SYNTHESIS:  ability to put parts together to form a new whole; unique communication, set and abstract relations
EVALUATION:  ability to judge value for purpose; base on criteria; support judgement with reason (no guessing)
