WINTERGUARD

Piney Grove Winterguard had an outstanding
second year. They took the floor in competition three times this season and also performed in the Cumming Christmas Parade in December. The team concluded their competition season with two First Place finishes and one Second Place finish. We are very proud of these girls and how they performed throughout the season, but most importantly, we are proud of how they conducted themselves as individuals and as members of a team. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Winterguard parents who were most supportive and helpful. It is no easy task getting sixteen girls ready to perform on competition day, let alone the manpower needed to paint our floor and move it to our competition sites. We truly would not have had a successful season without their support. Our directors look forward to our third year. If you have a rising seventh or eighth grader who might be interested in
guard, please listen for upcoming announcements. There may be opportunities this summer to learn a few new skills before our next season begins.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PGMS WINTERGUARD!

---Piney Grove Winterguard performed on January 22nd at the Color and Sound competition at South Forsyth High School. Our guard took the floor with sixteen, seventh and eighth girls performing our show entitled, The All-American Game. We placed second overall in the cadet division. Our team this year is led by four returning eighth grade members, McKenzie C., Allysa C., Sarah K. and Isabella N. We have twelve new members who round out our very enthusiastic team. Our winterguard season will consist of two more competitions, one on February 19th at Chattahoochee High School in Fulton County and the Wolverine Classic at West High School here in Forsyth on March 12th. You may purchase tickets at the door for either of these competitions if you would like to cheer our Grizzlies on to performance greatness. If you have further questions about the guard program please forward your inquiries to Donna Price, PGMS Guard Coordinator.
