Haw Creek is proud to be a "Olweus" School
Olweus is an Anti-Bullying Program that focuses on prevention and education. The key to the program is that most lessons are taught in the classroom. The students work together to build a bully-free community in their class and their school. These lessons are taught about once per week.
Below are the rules we follow at our school to be bully free at Haw Creek:
1. We will not bully other students.
2. We will help students who are bullied.
3. We will make it a point to include all students who are left out.
4. When we know someone is bullied, we will tell a teacher or adult at home.
What is Bullying?
A student is being bullied when he or she is exposed, repeatedly and over time, to negative actions on the part of one or more students. There is usually an imbalance in power or strength.
