*Find a newspaper article. Then, locate all the singular, plural, common and proper nouns. You can also look for present, past, future, linking and helping verbs. Challenge yourself even more by finding adjectives, pronouns, and adverbs!
 
**Use a menu or shopping ad to create a menu for the week, or dinner for your family one night. Estimate your total for the bill.
 
*Write a narrative story. Begin with prewriting (brainstorming, planning out your story.) Include setting, characters, rising action, conflict, climax, falling action, and resolution. Remember to include dialogue!!
 
*Practice long division problems:
9,452  divided by 9
 
45 divided by 6
 
29,962 divided by 14
 
*Write a persuasive letter to persuade your teacher to have a class pet, no homework, or more homework, etc.
 
*Research Native American groups and create a poster to display your information: Kwakiutl, Nez Perce, Seminole, Inuit, Pawnee, and Hopi.
