My name is Andrea Harris, and I am so excited to have found a “home” at Vickery Creek Elementary School! I have been working in the field of education for 25 years and have provided individual, small group and whole class instruction to students at both the elementary and middle school levels. I taught in the Gwinnett County Public School System for ten years and in private schools for fourteen years. I hold a Masters Degree in Education from Oglethorpe University.
I live in Cumming with my husband of 23 years, our 15 year old daughter, and our Maltese puppy dog. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and doing anything outdoors.
I am very thankful to be at VCE. I really enjoy the warm, loving, environment. It feels like being part of a big, happy family!
Hello, my name is Ms. Clark. This is my seventh year of teaching at VCE. I am blessed to be teaching at such an amazing school. I am so very excited about this school year! Teaching is my passion! I teach because I truly care about children and want them to love learning and become life-long learners. I am the mother to a beautiful daughter named Haley who is a senior this year at West Forsyth High School. I love nature and animals. I have two energetic dogs, a lovable cat, and an adorable bearded dragon. When I am not at school teaching, I enjoy being outside gardening, hiking, or boating. I can be best known for saying,
“ The only true mistake is the one that you
don’t learn from.”
Hi! My name is Joy Eaton and I am so very excited about the 2014-2015 school year! I have been teaching at Vickery Creek Elementary for 15 years and I am entering my 25th year of teaching. This is my fourth year in 4th grade and I must say it is my favorite grade to teach. My favorite subjects are math, science and social studies. I enjoy walking the green-way with my best friends, growing tomatoes, and taking care of my family and pets. I am looking forward to the new school year with my new group of students.
Hi! My name is Carolyn Purcell and I am so excited to be back in 4th grade this year here at VCE. I have been here at Vickery since 2000 as a parent, Room Mom, PTA Volunteer, Substitute, Instructional Assistant, and Teacher. So VCE is my home. I was born in Roanoke, Virginia, but have lived here for 25 years. My husband and I have 2 children who are 15 and 19. I love to spend my free time outside and with my family and pets. We have a dog, 2 cats, and 2 horses. The thing I love most about teaching is being part of my student’s life journey and seeing them become the best that they can be! I am looking forward to a great year!
“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”
