Kindergarten kids
As Kindergarten teachers, we believe it is our job to provide your child with a strong foundation in reading and mathematics in order to guide children on the path to life-long learning.
 In Reading/ Language Arts we learn:
  • Letter identification and letter sounds
  • "Word Attack" skills (what to do when we come to a word we don't know during reading)
  • How to read simple text
  • How to write sentences on a specific topic
  • And much, much more!

In Math we learn:

  • How to read, write and make sets of numbers to 30
  • How to count to 100 and beyond by 1's, 5's and 10's
  • Positional relationships
  • Sorting by identifying characteristics
  • Sequencing
  • Ordinal numbers (first, second, etc.)
  • All about money
  • Basic addition and subtraction
  • The list goes on and on...

Our Science Topics include:

  • Earth materials/ surface features
  • Health and personal safety
  • Living/Non living
  • Characteristics of matter and light
  • Using Science inquiry to problem solve

Our Social Studies Topics include:

  • Civic Understandings (all about our families, important leaders, etc.)
  • Economic Understandings (community helpers, basic human needs)
  • Geographic Understandings (basic map, globe skills)
  • Historical Understandings (our personal information)
