Advanced Placement Courses (AP)

For the 2012-13 school year students in grades 9-12 are enrolled in 23 different Advanced Placement courses. These classes are college level courses taught at the high school and all content criteria is established by College Board, the governing body that sets standards and criteria for each AP course. Based on performance on AP Exams administered in May each year, students may be able to obtain college placement exemptions or college credit. The criteria for exemption or college credit varies by each college or university. Please contact the admissions office of each individual college or university to get information on their specific requirements.
Each year Advanced Placement course offerings are contingent on sufficient enrollment of interested, motivited, and qualified students. Certain AP courses require prerequisite courses. Please see your counselor for more information.
