Guidelines

It is the belief of the Forsyth County School System and the teachers at Kelly Mill Elementary that all students have the right to develop their talents and abilities to the fullest. Embodied in this belief is the commitment to help gifted and talented students maximize their highest potential.

We recognize that gifted and talented learners have various learning styles and develop at different rates. To accommodate these factors, we provide differentiated curricula that develop higher thinking skills, self-direction, risk taking, curiosity, creativity, and interpersonal relationships.

In small groups, our students are exposed to a variety of instructional methods, project based learning and individual lessons in which we embed Forsyth County’s Personal Development Standards as well as the Georgia Performance Standards.

As individuals, each student has the opportunity to develop personal projects, suggest class lessons, and strengthen identified areas of weakness.
