This year Georgia is one of 45statesimplementing the national Common Core Standards. Teachers have attended numerous trainings over the course of the past year and summer in preparation for the new standards. In this initial year of implementation, students will also be taught "transition standards"-skills and concepts which fall into a gap due to the differences in grade level content between the Common Core Standards and Georgia Performance Standards. The Common Core does not include standards for Science and Social Studies; these subjects will continue to be taught based on the Georgia Performance Standards. We hope you will find the links below helpful as you familiarize yourself with the standards your children will be accountable for.
