|Mrs. Christie Zerkel|
I am so fortunate to be starting my 6th year at Cumming Elementary with a great staff and terrific groups of students. This is my 18th year of teaching overall and my 4th year teaching third grade. My favorite subject when I was in elementary school was math, but now I love to teach social studies and reading the most. I am married to a great man, and we have two wonderful children, Jake who is in the 12th grade and Kara who is in the 10th grade at Forsyth Central. My husband and I both graduated from the University of Virginia, so we are huge Cavalier fans. My time away from school is spent watching Kara play soccer, listening to Jake play marimba for indoor drumline, camping with my family, reading good books, going to church, and playing board and card games with anyone who I can get to play with me.
