The Forsyth County Board of Education is the governing body of the Forsyth County School System. The primary role of the Board is the legislation of the school system policies, which are executed under the direction of the school superintendent.
 
The Forsyth County Board of Education consists of five members who are elected by district to staggered, four-year terms. They meet monthly at the Forsyth County Board of Education and Professional Development Center at 1120 Dahlonega Highway, Cumming.

FY12 Board Goals:
  • Implement and monitor the Strategic Plan.
  • Utilize performance measures for Board and Superintendent.
  • Enhance staff and administrative relationships
  • Develop and implement a strategy to effectively focus and engage Local School Councils.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility within the school system.
