Jill Hobson is the Director of Instructional Technology for Forsyth County Schools. Her duties include facilitating the very successful Bring Your Own Technology program, re-inventing the Media Center, adoption and identification of digital learning resources, including 50,000+ objects in FCS' Learning Object Repository and the continuum of online learning opportunities are resources which make up the nationally recognized instructional technology program. She works closely with the Academics and Accountability division to promote instructional technology to accelerate student learning through higher order thinking. Working with Media Specialists and Instructional Technology Specialists, Jill facilitates the all aspects of the instructional technology planning, purchasing, professional learning and evaluation.
Jill was a founding member of the Georgia Society for Instructional Technology (G-STE). Jill was named one Technology and Learning's Top 100 most important people in educational technology. She has been on the National School Board Association's "Twenty to Watch", a list of 20 emerging leaders in technology. Jill serves as the vice-president of the Georgia K12 CTO Council as well as the Associate Chair of the Georgia Educational Technology Conference (GaETC).
She has presented at a number of international, national and state conferences. Jill earned her Bachelors Degree in English Education from the University of Georgia and Masters Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Georgia State University.
