We have been taking Note and Rest Identification Quizzes and note reading quizzes.  These quizzes are designed to make sure every student knows how to read notes and rhythms.  The format for the note and rest identification is fill in the blank for 14 different symbols (note and rests). The format for the note reading quizzes are 100 notes in 10 minutes (that works out to 6 seconds a note - a really long time). For both quizzes, a passing grade is 100%. Students will take the quiz once a week until they pass.  Grades will be entered every week until a 100% is achieved.  If a student does not reach 100% by the end of the year, the last grade entered will be the semester grade given.
