Rebecca Bronson

Hi! My name is Rebecca Bronson.  This will be my twenty-fifth year teaching at Vickery Creek Elementary School. I LOVE absolutely everything about kindergarten. I am blessed to have an amazing family. My husband’s name is Marshall, and we have three terrific children!  Caroline, Jackson, and Cameron.  When I’m not teaching, I enjoy watching L.S.U. football, L.S.U women’s basketball, and Manchester United.  I also love to paint.  You might see some of my pictures around our school.  This is going to be another fantastic year!

Emmy Iannone

Hi! My name is Emmy Iannone. I am so excited to be joining Vickery Creek Elementary this year and teaching kindergarten! I am originally from Jacksonville, Florida and relocated to Atlanta in the summer of 2023. I am a graduate of the University of Florida where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Education. When I am not teaching, I enjoy cheering for Gator sports teams, playing pickleball, and spending time with my friends! Teaching kindergarten is the joy of my life, and I am so excited to share this year with you all!

Krista Jones

Hello! I'm Krista Jones, and I'm thrilled to be your child's teacher this year. My husband and I relocated to Cumming in 2011. We're proud parents to two wonderful boys: Ethan, who's in fifth grade, and Liam, who's in third grade right here at VCE. Our family is completed by our beloved dog, Pixie. Outside of school, I cherish spending time with my family—whether it's reading books, playing soccer, baseball, or fishing together.

I graduated summa cum laude from Georgia College and State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and hold a math endorsement as well. This will be my fourth year teaching Kindergarten at Vickery Creek Elementary, following six years teaching first grade - two in Putnam County and four at Big Creek Elementary. During my time at home with my boys, I had the privilege of homeschooling them from ages 2 to 3 and also taught preschool at Midway Preschool.

Claudia Novotny

Hi VCE friends! My name is Claudia Novotny, and I'm so honored to be a part of the Vickery Creek family and the Kindergarten team! This will be my third year teaching kindergarten and I couldn't be more excited!! I have had experience teaching a literacy camp in Belize and a geography mini-course in the Faroe Islands prior to coming to VCE. My passion in teaching is for writing and math! I can't wait to get the school year started! When I am not at school, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends as well as spending time outdoors with my dogs. My favorite thing to do is to travel to new places and experience new cultures.

Christie Vaughan

Hi!  My name is Christie Vaughan and I’m so excited to begin another exciting year in kindergarten! I am originally from Greeneville, TN and I received both my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  Throughout my 26 year teaching career, I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grades, but I am a kindergarten teacher at heart.  I strive to be a lifelong learner by continuously pursuing opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.  I have completed my Educational Specialist degree (Ed. S.) in Teaching and Learning, and I am certified in gifted education and most recently received an endorsement in dyslexia.  I also have a teacher support specialist certification and enjoy mentoring new teachers to the profession.  My husband, Tom, and I have lived in the area since 2006 and are the proud parents of a 4 year old daughter, Anna Claire.  When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, taking my daughter to the park, and spending time with friends and family.  Teaching is my passion and I treat each child who walks through the door as one of my own.  I am honored to be a part of this incredible school family.

Dawn Walters

Hi! My name is Dawn Walters and I love being a teacher! This is my twenty-fifth year at VCE and my twenty-seventh year teaching. Over the years, I have taught First Grade, Second Grade, Kindergarten, & Pre-K. As an educator, I celebrate moments of joy every day while fostering strong relationships with our students and our school community. I have a sweet dog named Cassie and a rambunctious puppy named Sunnie. When I am not teaching, you can find me on the hiking trails, in a kayak, at the beach, walking my dogs, or just out enjoying nature. In the fall I will be cheering on my favorite teams - "Go Dawgs!" & "Let's go Braves!" It’s going to be a wonderful year and I can't wait to get to know you and your family!
