I have been a school counselor in Forsyth county since 2019 and this will be my 15^th year as a counselor. My first 6 years were spent at the middle school level and the remainder have been at the high school level. I am the mother of 3 fantastic grown children that I am extremely proud of. My undergraduate degree is in Nursing and my graduate degree is in Education/School Counseling. I earned both of my degrees from Valdosta State University. I am not a native of Georgia, but I have lived here for most of my adult years. I am very excited about joining the South Forsyth Middle School team so I can best utilize my passion and purpose, which is helping students become the best version of themselves.

I am beyond ecxited to return as  the 7^th Grade School Counselor at South Forsyth Middle!  I have been a counselor in Forsyth County Schools since 2014 when my husband Chris, my son Noah, and my daughter Olivia relocated here. I consider myself to be a Chicago girl who loves Portillo’s, stuffed pizza,  and going to the theater.  I earned my undergraduate degree from University of Iowa and my Masters in School Counseling from Concordia University Chicago. My name is Lara Bramel and I’m the 6th grade counselor! This is my third year as a school counselor, and I am so excited to be joining the South Forsyth family this year. I have a B.S. in Special Education (Adapted Curriculum) from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) as well as a Masters degree in School Counseling from Georgia State University. When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading, running, and spending time with my friends and family. I’m passionate about providing a safe space where students know they belong and providing the social/emotional skills students need to thrive in middle school.
