I have had the privilege of being an educator in Forsyth County for the past twenty years.  I have been a behavior intervention teacher, co-teacher for all grades, special education department chair, and assistant principal. Also, I have earned a bachelor’s in education, a master’s in special education, and a specialist in leadership. This is my sixth year as principal of Cumming Elementary.  I am thrilled with the work we are doing to meet the needs of all students and our efforts to connect with families.  I am here to serve you and your family. I am excited to begin my 23rd year working for Forsyth County Schools.   I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in early childhood education.  I also hold master’s and specialist degrees from North Georgia College and State University and Brenau University. Throughout my career in education, I have been a classroom teacher, special education teacher, early intervention teacher, and Quality Work Facilitator.  For the last seven years, I have served in the role of Assistant Principal.  I love being a part of the Cougar Nation Family as I continue my passion for supporting students, parents, and staff!    

I am thrilled to be joining the Cumming family for my 11^th year in Forsyth County Schools. I attended the University of West Georgia (Go Wolves!) for my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Once I began teaching, I also received my master’s and specialist degrees at the University of West Georgia. Additionally, I have reading and gifted endorsements and a Leadership Add-On certificate. I previously taught 1st grade, 4th grade, grades K-5 with the Early Intervention Program, and was an Instructional Coach.  When away from school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three kids, Bree, Rhett, and Cole. We love being outdoors or on the lake, watching sports, and having movie nights at home.

Hello! I am so excited to begin my 18th year at Cumming Elementary! I have also served as a classroom teacher, Title One support teacher, and Quality Work Facilitator. I have enjoyed all my roles at CES, including being a parent. I am very proud to have had my personal children attend Cumming Elementary as well! I am passionate about supporting the students, teachers, and parents of our school. I look forward to another amazing year in Cougar Nation!
