    My name is Rebecca Barrow and I teach 1st grade. My husband and I have two children and we've been in the Forsyth County/Silver City community for 30 years. I have taught 4th grade, 3rd grade, 2nd grade, 1st grade, and Kindergarten. I haven't taught 5th grade - the students are taller than I am. I love teaching at SCE and being a part of this community!

    Evans    Kelly Evans
    Hi friends! My name is Mrs. Evans. This will be my 25th year teaching in Forsyth County. I studied Elementary Education at North Georgia College and State University and earned my Master’s Degree from Kennesaw State University. My husband Michael and I both grew up in Forsyth County. We live in the community with our two sons, Matthew(18) and will be attending Georgia Southern, Mayes (12), our 4 dogs and a cat. We are avid baseball fans.
     
    Dansby is our therapy dog. He is a Goldendoodle. Dansby has been at Silver City for 6yrs. He enjoys hanging out in the hallway and greeting all the kids as they arrive at school.

      Walker  Amanda Walker
    GO DAWGS!! Hello, my name is Amanda Walker. I am very excited to be a first grade teacher Silver City! I am a 2008 graduate from Valdosta State University. I have taught PreK, Kindergarten, Frist, and Third grade. I have a love for teaching young minds and challenging their thinking to a higher level. I am married to Charlie Walker, who I have known since 4th grade! We have four children, Savannah (14), Eliza (11), Wyatt (10), and Carley Ann (5)! On the weekends you can find us at football, cheerleading, soccer, baseball, and at basketball! I am looking forward to a great year!

      My name is Jessica Parks. I love teaching 1st grade and I am very excited to see what this year holds! I am starting my 23rd year in Forsyth County. I have been at SCES for 10 years. I have taught in a variety of settings, including special education, Pre- K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade. I grew up in Forsyth County and graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1998. I graduated from Gainesville State College in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and have my preschool endorsement. I have three nieces that keep my busy and I spend my free time reading and traveling with my family!

    My name is Charlene Foard and I’m so excited to be teaching first grade this year! This will be my first year teaching first grade, however it will be my third year in education. I previously worked as a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant here at Silver City. Before I came to Silver City, I worked in the education department at Zoo Atlanta. Animals are one of my favorite things to teach about! ​ I live in Dawsonville with my two children, Liam and Sarah. We like to spend time as a family playing games, reading together, and swimming at the pool.

    Hi! My name is Sarah Russell and this will be my 16th year of teaching. I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 3rd and 4th grades. I have taught first grade for 7 years and I absolutely LOVE it! My husband, Adam and I have 3 amazing children. My daughter, Aralyn will be a junior at North Forsyth High School. My daughter, Layton will be an 8th grader at North Forsyth Middle, and my son Kellen will be in 7th grade at North Forsyth Middle School. Our family enjoys traveling and spending time together. I am looking forward to another fabulous first grade year!

     I am so excited to begin my 24th year in education! It is a gift to get to do what I love each day and to teach 1st grade at Silver City! I graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Kindergarten. I am also certified in Special Education. I have been in Forsyth County since 2005, teaching Kindergarten and Second Grade. I live in the Silver City area with my husband (Craig) and my two children (Carson and Annika). In my spare time, I like to exercise, travel, go boating on Lake Lanier, and spend time with my family. This will be my fifth year at Silver City!

      Tinsley  Felicia Tinsley
    Hi Comets! I'm Ms. Tinsley and this is my 11th year teaching and my 5th year as a Comet! I love having tons of fun with my class. Some of the fun things we love to do together are having Friday dance parties, read whole class novels, sing our favorite songs, cheer on our Challenger shuttle, and have fun learning together. I am a huge Tennessee Volunteers fan and have 2 Weimaraners named, Smoky and Shadow. I'm looking forward to another fun year with you, Silver City! Let's have the best year yet!
