Meet the cafeteria staff:
Shelly Gerstner - Food & Nutrition Manager
My name is Shelly Gerstner and I am the Wildcat Cafeteria manager. I enjoy working with the students and seeing their bright, cheery smiles every day! I am originally from Illinois and moved to Georgia in 2008. I have a degree in biology and worked in a flavor company for 16 years in research and development. My husband and I have 2 wonderful children, a son who plays college baseball and a daughter who enjoys competition dance. I enjoy the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and watching my kids at their various activities.
My name is Alina Herrera and I was born and raised in Miami, Fl. I moved to GA in 1984 and enjoy the people and nature and love seeing all of the seasons. My husband and I have two beautiful twin daughters. We enjoy the outdoors and travelling. I began working in Food and Nutrition in 2012 and love being a part of the team that feeds the children so they can become strong men and women of the future. I enjoy seeing them grow as they come through the line every day. I am grateful to have this opportunity to serve them.
My name is Norma and I have been working at Big Creek since 2013. I really enjoy working with the kids and the girls that I work with.
My name is Lisa Skiouris. I love to help and serve others. I enjoy working with children and love seeing them grow. Nothing pleases me more than seeing their smiling faces every day.
My name is Sue. I have been the cook here at Big Creek since 2010. I enjoy working in the school seeing all of the students every day. It brings back memories of my own children when they were that young in elementary school.

Shelly Gerstner received the Forsyth County Employee of the Month Award!! She was presented this award at the board meeting. We are so fortunate to have Shelly leading our cafe team here at Big Creek. She always looks for ways to make the lunchroom a positive experience for our students, staff, and families. Congratulations, Shelly!

As with any commercially manufactured foods, some may be produced on equipment used to produce other allergen containing products such as milk, soy, wheat, and nuts. These items are not identified on the serving line. If a parent wishes, they may come go to the central office food service department and look at the ingredient label notebook, or go on line to the Food and nutrition page and view the labels on line.
