•  Liberty Middle School Chorus

Register for Chorus for the 2018-2019 School Year

Liberty Middle School offers Chorus to all students.  Dr. Karen Graffius, instructor, teaches one chorus class for each grade level.  These classes meet during the school day during the connections block.  Students have the option of participating in chorus and no audition is required.

Students in chorus attend chorus  all year  long during one of their connections classes.  Chorus students are required to attend four mandatory evening performances throughout the school year.  These concerts are usually less than one hour in length.  Additionally the choruses perform at area feeder schools and community events.  Other optional activities include All-State Chorus, District 9 Honor Chorus, Forsyth County Honor Chorus and Fine Arts Night.  In addition to preparing for concerts, chorus students are given instruction in good healthy vocal production, are taught how to read music and are exposed to music of various cultures and time periods.

Liberty choruses consistently receive superior ratings at Georgia Music Educators Association sponsored Large Group Performance Evaluations.  The Liberty 8th Grade Chorus was one of two middle schools invited to perform at the 2015 GMEA In-Service Conference in Savannah, GA.  In March of 2018, five Liberty choruses participated in the Large Group Performance Evaluations and 4 groups received a superior rating in performance and all 5 received a superior rating in sight-reading.
