About Leader
L.E.A.D.E.R. is an organization founded by volunteers in August 2000. The purpose of our intervention was to reduce the incidence of children being killed on our roads directly related to inadequate driver training. On today’s roads, we lose more children 14 to 24 years of age to automobile accidents than any other cause. This is a major health issue for our young people.
L.E.A.D.E.R is partnered with the Forsyth County Board of Education to provide an integrated program of classroom training and interactive simulation training. Additional hours of road experience are offered through registered local driving schools or by parents downloading a program through the Department of Driver Services. A Certificate of Driver Education and high school Carnegie credits can be obtained for those children who successfully complete the program. State Farm Insurance is now offering a 10% discount if a students successfully completes this course through Forsyth County Schools.
