    Our Mission 
     
    Our mission is to initiate and sustain the lifelong process of language learning through authentic and purposeful communication as well as cultural experiences. We want every student to experience the pleasure and challenges of learning world languages and to become competitive in today’s interconnected world.

    Three languages are offered at NFHS: French, Russian, and Spanish. All programs emphasize the relationship between history, culture, traditions, and language. We provide students with the opportunity for written and oral practice to encourage creative thinking, problem solving, and self-expression. Through the use of multi-media technology, students connect to a broader cultural learning experience. 

    Students are encouraged to strengthen their language and communication skills by participating in the activities organized by the French Honor Society, the International Club, the National Spanish Honor Society, and the Slavic Languages Club.
