Honor SocietiesThe SFHS Honor Societies exist to help distinguish those students who excel in particular fields of academics, such as foreign language, art, and career & technical education. Please note updates will be made over the course of the first few weeks of school.

Math Honor Society - Junior & Senior students interested in joining Mu Alpha Theta should come to the first meeting on August 28th in the West Hall Commons (Media Center). Should you be accepted, this will count as your first meeting! If you are unable to attend, you may get an application from Mrs. Anderson in room 2003 after the 28th!

National Art Honor Society is for nominated Juniors and Seniors. This group sponsors the SFHS Art Society for grades 9-12 promoting the arts on campus and throughout the community.

National Honors Society

This is an Honors society open to juniors and seniors by invitation only. Juniors and Seniors with a 3.8000+ GPA are invited to apply for membership to NHS. The official invitation generally arrives by email at the end of August/Beginning of September. Once a member, students' GPA must be maintained, they must complete a minimum of 2 approved service hours per month, and they must attend the monthly meeting.

This is an honors society open to 10th to 12th graders. You must have taken or are currently taking a stem related class. You must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5.

Science National Honor Society

The purpose of this organization is to encourage participation in and recognition of scientific and intellectual thought. It is to advance the students’ knowledge of classical and modern science, to communicate with the scientific community, and to aid the civic community with its comprehension of science. It is to encourage students to participate in community service and, in turn, encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humanity. Throughout the year, students will meet at our general meetings once a month to hear guest speakers and student board speakers discuss relevant topics in science. Members are also required to participate in science outreach opportunities and encouraged to be involved with our science competition teams.

Spanish NHS

The Spanish National Honor Society is an academic organization dedicated to promoting the study of the Spanish Language and the culture of Hispanic countries. The Honor Society typically meets once a month and has many extracurricular activities. It is affiliated with the national organization and its members may participate in the national convention, trips, scholarship opportunities and scholarly publications.
