Joining the PTSO is our way to generate income and be a part of a national organization that advocates for parents, teachers and students.The Membership chairperson will:• Help at Open House and Curriculum Night to sign members up and answer questions.
FundraisingThe Fundraising chair will:
- Organize and execute a fundraiser to benefit Piney Grove middle school and the PTSO
- Help organize orders and count money
Communicate with Executive board and our representative from the fundraising company to organize parties and prizes for students.
8th Grade Dance and Picnic (May 2022)
PTSO provides volunteers to help decorate for the dance, which will be held on a Friday evening in May from 7:00 – 9:30.The picnic is held in May at school. It is catered with food, games, snow cones, inflatables and a DJ.
We need volunteers to:
Staff Appreciation (year round)PTSO provides meals for staff on early release/conference days, distributes mailbox treats monthly, and run Staff Appreciation week in March.Additional volunteers will be needed to:
Decorate for the dance based on a chosen theme. Both set up and clean up is done by parent volunteers
Help the day of the picnic with lunch set up and clean up.
- Donate items such as food or drinks for events
Bake and/or cook for events
Help with set up/clean up for events
The PTSO provides refreshments at a variety of school functions including Spelling and Geography Bees, Oratorical competition, Veteran’s Day and the Academic Achievement Awards (AAA).
We need volunteers to:
Assist with set up/clean up of events
Help provide refreshments for these events
Box TopsWe collect Box Tops to help support the PTSO and the school financially. Students are given small incentives for bring the coupons in which are found on many food and paper products. The committee chair is responsible to set the dates for collection and send in all Box Tops to the company for payment.
S.O.S. Committee (Support our School)E-mails are sent for as-needed volunteer opportunities such as front office help, health screenings, and the book fairs. If you would like to be added to this list, Please contact the chair.
