Director:
Mr. Ryan Wason
For more information about the Lambert Chorus Program, please visit our NEW Website.
The Department of Music at Lambert High School is comprised of three sections: Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, and Music Theory.
Vocal Music:
The LHS Vocal Music program consists of our choruses: the Concert Chorus (Beginning/Intermediate), Chamber Singers (Advanced Mixed) and the Women's Chorale (Advanced Treble) and the newly formed Men's Chorus, which meet during the school day, and any select special ensembles including but not limited to Solo / Ensemble groups, Literary Team, and participants in GMEA All-State Chorus and our musical theater productions. All classes are guided by the standards set forth by the Music Educators' National Conference, The Georgia Music Educators' Association, and the Quality Core Curriculum set forth by the State of Georgia PSC.
Music Theory:
Music Theory is designed as a two-year continuous course at Lambert High School. Year one is conducted as in introduction to music theory and aural training. Year two is designed as Advanced Placement (AP) music theory and is a continuation of the skills developed in the year one course. Students may opt out of the theory classes after completing year one if desired. The two-year course will culminate in the AP Music Theory exam. This class is recommended for Junior and Senior level students. Any student interested in taking these classes must have a minimum of one year of high school music experience in either band, percussion, chorus, or music theater classes and must have the recommendation of their director to participate. This class is guided by the standards set forth by the Music Educators' National Conference, the Georgia Music Educators' Association, the Quality Core Curriculum set forth by the State of Georgia PSC, and the College Board.
