•  Educational Technology Coach

Educational Technology Coaches (ETC) provide on-site and on-demand assistance for fellow teachers to create different forms of learning and teaching with the help of technology. ETC strive to enhance student learning by leading teachers in the application and best practices of established and emerging tools. When ETC are carefully chosen and utilized properly, they can be more effective in helping teachers integrate technology into daily teaching and learning than any other form of professional development. The purpose of the ETC is to provide assistance to teachers with the integration of technology, support curriculum development as it relates to instructional technology, and train teachers to use technology in the most appropriate and effective manner.  When choosing an ETC, an administrator should use the standards, qualifications, and attributes listed below as a guide. These standards and elements are derived from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Coaches.

    Our classrooms consist:

    • 10 Chromebooks for students use
    • A teacher laptop
    • An interactive board and projector
    • A classroom iPad
    • Also, many digital resources to use to enhancement lessons

To encourage current and engaging lessons our teachers and students also have access to a class set of iPads and Chromebook carts. Teachers often incorporate these devices when they are using blended and personalized learning strategies that focus on their students' passions and interests.

Mrs. Edwards

Hello! My name is Amanda Edwards and I am so excited to start my first year at Brookwood as an ETC! My goal is for students to use technology to explore and create in a safe and intentional way. Prior to Brookwood, I taught Mathematics for ten years at Forsyth Central High School.

I am originally from Snellville, Ga and graduated from the University of Georgia in 2009 with a BA Mathematics Education. In 2022, I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Specialist in Instructional Technology. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Nick and our daughter Maeice (2). We love cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs! I am excited to start working at Brookwood ES and meet my new family!!
