The mission of gifted education is to maximize the potential of gifted and talented students by providing programs and services that accommodate their advanced learning styles. Identification and eligibility procedures are established through guidance from the Georgia Department of Education.

Mrs. Vanerstrom
Mrs. Vanerstrom will begin her 23rd year teaching and is looking forward to another amazing school year! She has her master's degree in elementary education, her reading endorsement, and gifted certification. She feels her job as facilitator is to develop enriching, engaging lessons that stretch the thinking of her young students and provide a safe, welcoming, and enthusiastic environment in which to learn the rigor necessary for academic success. I am looking forward to a fantastic year teaching gifted at BES!

Mrs. Davis
Mrs. Davis is a Georgia native and has been teaching elementary school for 24 years. She has a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from North Georgia, a Master's degree in Gifted and Creative Studies from UGA, and a Specialist's degree from Piedmont College in Curriculum and Instruction. This is her tenth year at Brookwood, where she strives daily to challenge and inspire her students and instill a love of learning.
