- NETS-S - Technology Standards for Students
-
As part of the Forsyth County School System, Liberty Middle School is committed to preparing students to learn, work and live in the 21st century by developing the modern technology skills which will enable them to be successful. Our vision is that classroom technology will engage students in asking questions and choosing tools to facilitate real world problem solving.Part of the way in which FCS will meet this goal is by promoting and infusing all areas of instruction with skills known as the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S). The NETS-S Standards were developed by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and are widely adopted throughout the United States and internationally. The Georgia State Board of Education adopted the NETS-S Standards at their February 2011 board meeting. Teachers across the state have collaborated with the Georgia Department of Education to create over 400 performance tasks which are aligned to the NETS-S as well as the content standards in English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies for Kindergarten through 8th grade.
