Scoliosis Screening for ALL 6th and 8th Graders February 6th, 2025

• It is Georgia State Law that 6th and 8th Graders be screened for scoliosis.

• If your student has yearly well visits with a physician, they are already being screened for scoliosis by their doctor and it is not necessary for them to be screened by the school.  Also, some students are already under a doctor's care for  the treatment of scoliosis. 

• If you do not want your child screened for scoliosis, you MUST fill out the scoliosis waiver form and turn the form into the school nurse. You can also waive the form online through infinite campus portal-documents-scoliosis waiver and submit.

• It is recommended that you review the information below with your child so they know what to expect. ALL students will have to remove their shirts. It is recommended that girls wear a bra or sports bra on the day of the screening. The letter below includes further instructions of what to expect and what to wear on day of the screening.
