• Music

The best way to learn music is to experience it through performance and movement.  During music class, students are taught the fundamentals of music, such as steady beat, rhythm and music notation.

Using various mediums of technology, students explore creating and notating original compositions.    The interactive whiteboard offers limitless possibilities for the students to study and apply class concepts.

Students use Orff and percussion instruments to apply what they have learned and are assessed by their performance.

There are two quotes that explain my philosophy of music education.
"Where words fail, music speaks." Hans Christian Andersen
"Music is the universal language of mankind." Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Through music, we find our voice and can communicate with the world. My passion is to help every child to find their voice and to realize that at Shiloh Point Elementary, "Every Voice Counts."
