Mandy Malcolm, Grades 3-5
Hello, my name is Mandy Malcolm, and I'm proud to be a part of the Midway Elementary Counseling Team as the counselor for students in grades 3-5.
I'm a Georgia native, and in 1993, I graduated from North Georgia College, in Dahlonega Georgia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. I taught 4th and 5th grade Language Arts for four years in Dade County, Georgia before completing a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from the University of Tennessee in 1999.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. I've been married to my husband for 23 years, and I'm a mom of two young adults, so life is busy and there's never a dull moment! My son is a senior at West Forsyth and my daughter is a junior at Clemson University. We also just adopted a new cavapoo puppy named Murphy. I love watching college football - Go Tigers!! .
This will be my 24th year as a school counselor with Forsyth County Schools. I was previously a middle school counselor for 18 years and a high school counselor for three years before returning to elementary school, where I began my career in education.
I look forward to empowering students to be their own advocate and problem solve to find success. It is my hope that they will demonstrate grit and resilience when working toward their goals and that their time at Midway is filled with much success and happiness.
Please contact me if I can be of assistance to you or your child.
