Ms. Maddie Brown

I am so excited for another great school year at Sharon and another wonderful year of kindergarten! I grew up in the Atlanta area so Georgia really is home to me. I obtained my degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). I also have my ESOL endorsement and took part in the Orton-Gillingham training five summers ago. From the time I was little, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and as I got older I jumped at every opportunity to work with students and be in schools. During my time at UGA, I was able to study abroad and teach English to second graders in Italy. This was such an amazing experience and combined two of my favorite things: teaching and traveling! After graduating, I taught first grade for two years in Gwinnett County. Then I joined the Sharon family and this will be my seventh year teaching kindergarten here at Sharon! Kindergarten is my happy place --it truly is magical! In my free time, I enjoy cooking, spending time with family and friends, traveling and taking my eight-year-old Golden Retriever, Banks, for walks and hikes.

Mrs. Kelly Scherer

Hi! My name is Kelly Scherer and I’m so excited for another year at Sharon Elementary School!

I received my Bachelor’s degree at the University of North Florida in Elementary Education and taught 3rd grade right out of college. After having kids, I took a hiatus from teaching and became a stay-at-home mom. I worked as a preschool teacher for several years and then joined Sharon Elementary 2 years ago serving as a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant and as an Interventionist. Now I have the privilege to rejoin Sharon’s amazing Kindergarten team and I’m beyond thrilled!

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and lived there my entire life until 7 years ago.  In 2016, my husband’s job took our family to the Dallas, Texas area. We enjoyed our time in Texas, but when an opportunity at work was presented to my husband to move back east closer to family, we took it. We moved to Cumming 5 years ago and have been loving our life in Georgia ever since! My wonderful husband and I have two amazing children - Leah (16) and  Levi (13).

In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, reading, hiking, exercising, baking, and traveling.

Mrs. Ann-Marie Larson

I am so looking forward to another amazing year at Sharon Elementary.

I am from Indiana, and I received my bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Hanover College. I was a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teacher in Franklin, IN before moving to Atlanta in ‘91 for my job as a Delta flight attendant. Atlanta is where I met my husband, and we have three awesome sons who all attended Forsyth County Schools. Once my boys came along, I knew I wanted to be back in the classroom. I was a substitute teacher in Forsyth County before becoming an instructional assistant in 2014.

I love to read, run, travel, cook, and hang with my boys and our sweet pup, Lola, whenever I can.

I am so grateful to be part of the Sharon family, and I look forward to an awesome school year!
