Hi Huskies! This is my 9th year in the classroom and my 4th year as a Husky. I have my Masters degree in Childhood Education and Student's with Disabilities and an advanced degree in Literacy from The College of Saint Rose in NY.

I thrive on building students up and finding their strengths when they are in a sea of uncertainty. Growing up can be hard and school can be hard, but we learn that we can do hard things together. It's going to be a great year!

My name is Darlene Martin and I have over 20 years of teaching experience in grades Pre-K through 3rd grade. This is my 12th year at Haw Creek!

I earned a bachelor's degree in Pre-K/Primary education from Barry University in Miami, FL in 2001. I am originally from South Florida and moved to Cumming in 2006. I have been married to the most amazing man, Scott, for 30 years! We have 3 grown children, Brandon (28), Austin (26) and Sheraden (20). We also have 2 dogs, Reno and Coco, along with our son Austin's dog, Letti!

I enjoy spending time with my family, visiting family and friends in Florida (at the beach!), watching movies, shopping and going to restaurants!

I look forward to a new position in ESOL/EIP this school year!
