Hello, my name is Sylvia Davis. I am originally from Valdosta, Georgia. I have been working in education since 1998. I was an interpreter for deaf/hard-of-hearing students in Lowndes County for eight years. I became an elementary school teacher in 2007. I taught kindergarten for two years and first grade for nine years at Dewar Elementary. I received my interpreter degree from NFCC and my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State University. I am currently working on my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Reading from Thomas University. I am married to my high school sweetheart Mike, and we have three children. Our oldest two attend UGA and our youngest will be a fifth-grader at Mashburn. This will be my third year as a Mashburn Blue Bear and I am looking forward to it!

My name is Yasmin Perez and I am so excited to join the Mashburn family this year as a 1st grade Dual Language Immersion teacher. I have lived in Forsyth County for the past 19 years and attended Forsyth County Schools. I graduated from the University of North Georgia this May with a dual degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education along with a reading endorsement. I had the most amazing experience student teaching in Forsyth County, and I am thrilled to begin this school year as an official Mashburn Blue Bear. Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to baseball games, hiking, doing any outdoor activities, and going on mission trips whenever I can. I have one dog, Toby who joins me on all my outdoor adventures. I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
