This will be Mrs. Cox's third year in 5th grade at Chestatee. Mrs. Cox received both her Bachelor's and Master's degree from Brenau University. She later received her Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. She has had the joy to have previously taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math. She loves teaching math and helping students learn to love math, too. She loves the families and community at Chestatee Elementary and is excited for this year of learning and fun!
Mrs. Daise is elated to be a part of the “T” this fall. She has had a wide range of teaching experiences from high school all the way down to Georgia PreK for the last 20+ years. She has taught in Forsyth County for 7 years at Daves Creek Elementary. Where she was a fifth grade teacher for 4 years and Specials Teachers for 3 years. Mrs. Daise is originally from Oklahoma, but has called Georgia home for 9 years. Her family just moved up to the lake in December of 2019. She and her husband of 29 years, Keith have 2 boys, Brett 21(rising senior at Georgia College) , Matt 17 (rising Senior at South) and she can’t forget Billy, their Boston Terrier(almost 1). Her passion in teaching is to help students understand their learning style and use those tools to prepare them for middle school. Ext. 722470
Abigail Elrod will be joining the 5th grade team for her third year at Chestatee Elementary. Abigail graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education with both ESOL and reading endorsements. Abigail is so excited to continue her teaching journey at Chestatee, and to have her classroom family learning and growing with her all year. She loves the "T" and can't wait for another great year! This will be Kristin Gomez's 6th year teaching in Forsyth County and 3rd year teaching at Chestatee Elementary. Mrs. Gomez received her Bachelor's dual degree in Early Childhood and Special Education with a reading endorsement from the University of North Georgia. She then received her Master's degree in Early Childhood with her gifted endorsement from Piedmont College. Kristin will be teaching her 3rd year in Fifth Grade at Chestatee! She recently got married during the 2020-2021 school year, so many student know her as Ms. Hamby. She is BEYOND excited to spend another year at the T with some incredible students! Chestatee is home!
This will be Celeste Husted’s second year at the T and in Fifth grade, but her 16th year overall. Most of her experience has been in teaching middle school math, so she brings her experience to prepare her 5th graders for success in middle school. Mrs. Husted is really looking forward to another great year at Chestatee and working with the best 5th grade team in the state! It is going to be a great year!!!
Brittany Maynard is ecstatic to join the Eagle family and the talented 5th grade team! She brings with her 9 years of experience in teaching, all in fabulous Forsyth County. Mrs. Maynard graduated from the University of North Georgia with a dual Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. A few years later, she completed her Master’s Degree at Kennesaw State University in the area of Instructional Technology. Currently, she is pursuing her Specialist Degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Georgia. Additionally, she has earned a Reading Endorsement, Online Teaching Endorsement, and has a total of 70+ hours of training in the Orton Gillingham approach. She is also a Level 1 Google Certified Educator. Ext. 722454
This will be Ms. Warner’s fourth year at Chestatee Elementary. Ms. Warner graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a dual degree in Early Childhood and Special Education in addition to a reading endorsement. She is very excited to teach ELA to a group of amazing 5th graders! She knows this year is going to be an awesome year filled with learning and fun!
After enjoying a career as a business analyst in the banking industry, Mrs Weaver found her calling in education. She has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of West Georgia, a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, along with certification in Educational Leadership from Piedmont College. She has taught elementary grades first, fourth and fifth. Mrs. Weaver's passion is building a culture of engaged and fun-filled learning. It is a blessing to be part of the Chestatee family.
