Nicole Brown

Good day Mariners!  My name is Nicole Brown and I’m so excited to be continuing my teaching career at Matt Elementary this year. I’ve taught in Forsyth County for over 10 years.  I’ve had the pleasure of teaching first, second, and fourth grade.  Most of my experience has been in second grade and I’m thrilled to be working with this age group again.

I’m originally from New York but moved south after graduate school.  The weather is much better here, although I do love a good snow day!  I have my Bachelor’s Degree from Ithaca College and my Master’s Degree from Syracuse University.  Also, I have my leadership certificate from University of Georgia.

I live in Cumming with my husband, Thomas, and our two kids. In my free time I enjoy biking with my family, playing tennis, listening to podcast, and walking my neighborhood.  On Sunday mornings you’ll find me volunteering with 3 and 4 year olds at my church with my daughter.

I am thrilled to be joining the second-grade team at Matt! With 18 years of teaching experience in Florida, spanning from PreK to 5th grade, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to this role. Originally hailing from Augusta, GA, I pursued my Bachelor's in Elementary Education at Georgia Southern University before embarking on my teaching journey in Orlando, FL.

During my time in Orlando, I not only found my professional calling but also met my wonderful husband of 10 years. Together, we've built a beautiful family with three beautiful girls aged 9, 6, and 3, accompanied by two dogs and a bunny. The prospect of relocating back to my home state to be closer to my family fills us all with excitement and joy.

Beyond the classroom, I find solace and joy in outdoor activities with my loved ones. Teaching is more than just a profession to me; it's a vocation, a calling that I wholeheartedly embrace. I am eager to embark on this new adventure alongside my students at Matt and make a positive impact on their educational journey. Here's to new beginnings and endless possibilities!
