COVID-19 had a great impact on the number of mentors we had working with students, and we have lost many of our mentors due to moving, workplace or family obligations, etc. We have a great need for community members to mentor our young people. We now have an electronic application that must be completed by mentors before they attend training (except for current staff members). *We no longer accept paper applications of any kind*
Check out our Mentoring Counselor Guidance Document that has our process to become a mentor outlined by types of mentors (high school student, community member and staff member).
Currently, we have scheduled in-person training through November 2021. Public training dates and times will be added to our FCS Mentoring Webpage as they are scheduled.
We are looking forward to a great year of recruitment and reuniting mentors who may have not seen their mentee last school year.
