I am a Forsyth County native, and I graduated from North Forsyth High School in 2011. I attended the University of North Georgia and received a dual degree in early childhood and special education. I am currently working on completing my master’s degree in elementary education at the University of Alabama. This will be my seventh year teaching at Cumming Elementary. I love Cougar Nation and cannot imagine a more amazing school community! When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family which consists of my husband, my daughter, and my son. I am so excited about all the adventures that this school year is going to bring!
This will be my 9th year at CES. I have been teaching elementary school for over 20 years. I teach special education and have also taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I graduated from The Ohio State University and John Carroll University with a master's degree in Elementary Education. I am married and have two children that are both in college.
This is my 20th year of teaching with 16 of those at Cumming Elementary School. I have experience teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grades. I received my bachelor’s degree from Miami University (Ohio), my master’s from the University of North Georgia, and my specialist from Lincoln Memorial University. My husband and I reside in Cumming with our three children, but I was born and raised in Ohio.

Hello! This is my fourth year at Cumming Elementary as an IRR teacher. I am a graduate of Old Dominion University and prior to coming to Cumming Elementary, I taught Pre-Kindergarten for six years. I have also spent a year assisting with a skills-based autism class. My husband and I live in Forsyth County along with our 15-year-old twin boys. I love teaching and working with children! I am looking forward to another wonderful school year!

Hello, my name is Tonya Hanks. This is my 9th year teaching at Cumming Elementary. I graduated from the University of North Georgia with my Masters in Education and received my educational specialist degree from Piedmont College. My family is a very busy bunch! We love the outdoors and you will often find us hiking, spending time on the lake or playing sports. I look forward to another wonderful year with the fantastic students and staff at CES!!
Hello, my name is Mary Longoria. This is my 5th year at Cumming Elementary. My husband and I moved to Georgia with our four children in June 2016 from San Antonio, Texas. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on General Education, Special Education, and Kinesiology. I also have a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. I have been teaching for 23 years in various grade levels (Pre-K to young adults through age 22). My first teaching experience was as a general education self-contained 5th-grade teacher, then I moved into Special Education which has always been the place that I love. In Texas, I taught for 17 years in several different specialized instruction programs. Since moving to Georgia, I have been on Cumming Elementary’s IRR team. This school year, I will also be the Special Education Department Chair. I absolutely love being in Georgia and look forward to another great year working with the remarkable students that attend Cumming Elementary!

Hello, Cougar Nation! My name is Tami Rogers. I’m excited to be starting my 6th year at Cumming Elementary! Prior to being a Special Education teacher, I taught middle school, 5th, 4th, and 3rd grades. I’m originally from Buffalo, New York. Go Bills! I now live in Forsyth county along with my two boys. One in elementary and one in middle school. We are huge sports fans and love being around the lake. I’m looking forward to a great year with my students!
I have been employed by Forsyth County Schools for over 20 years. During my career, I have been a classroom teacher, long-term substitute, and I am currently working as a paraprofessional. I hold degrees from Reinhardt College, Tift College, and a Master of Education degree from the University of Georgia. I absolutely love working at Cumming Elementary and believe it’s a fantastic place for children to grow and learn. I look forward to helping make this school year the best ever at CES.
I am originally from Indiana. I am the 5th of 9 children. I have 2 children, Collin who is a graduate of UGA, and Aubrey who is a teacher at Lakeside Middle. During my free time, I enjoy reading, trying new foods, etc.
This is my 10th year with Forsyth County Schools. I have two adult sons, Aaron and Matthew, who graduated from West. My family loves sports, and we enjoy watching UGA and Atlanta United games. I also enjoy reading and walking my dogs.

Hi! This is my 31st year teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing and it is my love! I have taught at several schools in GA and FL, but Cumming Elementary is by far the best school! I have degrees in Education for DHH and Elementary Education with PREK Special Needs, ESOL, and Reading endorsements added. I love teaching and fostering a love for learning and self in my students. I live with my husband and 3 daughters in Cumming, where we love to go camping, hiking, and watching Marvel movies together! I'm looking forward to another wonderful year of learning and growing.

This is my 9th year as a DHH Para at Cumming Elementary. I have been married for 23 years and am a mom to 4 children. My children are boy/girl twins who are 22, an 18-year-old daughter, and a 15-year-old son. We have four cats and a bearded dragon.
DHH 2nd-5th Teacher
This will be my 15th year of teaching and my 9th year at CES! I have a B.S. degree in Communication Disorders from Auburn University and a M.A in Deaf Education from Valdosta State University. I am married and have one daughter, Abby. When I am not teaching, I enjoy working out, coaching softball, watching Auburn football, hiking, biking, and going on adventures with my village. I am looking forward to another great year of teaching and helping our students realize their potential! War Eagle!

This will be my sixth year working in Forsyth County Schools. I attended Georgia Perimeter College to learn ASL. I have been in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing department for five years. I love working at Cumming Elementary. I am married with three grown children and five grandchildren.
This is my fifth year teaching & I'm so excited to continue serving as the SID/PID teacher here in Cougar Nation! I have a B.S. in Early Childhood/Special Education (P-5) from the University of North Georgia and an M.Ed. in Special Education Adapted Curriculum from Georgia Southern University. This is my fourth year at Cumming Elementary School as a SID/PID Paraprofessional. I have a Bachelor’s in Child and Family Development as well as a National Certification in Pharmacy Technician. I have 2 daughters: Halle, 16, and Katie, 11. We have been a resident of Cumming for 3 years.

Hi! My name is Sherry Lopez and this will be my eleventh year at Cumming Elementary. I have a Masters's Degree from Valdosta State University in the area of special education. I recently obtained my Reading Endorsement and look forward to helping students who struggle in the area of reading and writing. I am challenged by helping students develop strategies that will enable them to succeed academically and socially. I am looking forward to another successful, productive, and fun year at Cumming Elementary!
This is my fourth year as a paraprofessional at Cumming Elementary School. I have a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and computer science from Southern Illinois University. Formerly, I worked as an IT professional for 11 years. My husband and I live in Forsyth county with our two sons. We love traveling, hiking, biking, and camping. Hello! My name is Susan Brady, and this is my 13th year as an educator and my third year as a Special Education teacher. I’ve had experience at the middle grades, preschool, and elementary levels. I have a Bachelor in Business Administration degree with a focus in marketing and art, a Master of Education degree with a focus in middle grades, Reading endorsement, Adapted Special Education certification, General Special Education certification, and Early Childhood certification. My husband and I have two teenage girls, and I enjoy spending time with them, traveling, reading, and being outdoors. I enjoy seeing students overcoming obstacles and enjoying the resulting success! I am looking forward to another great year with Cumming family!
I am very excited to be at Cumming Elementary! This is my 6th year at Cumming Elementary, and I love serving our students! I truly believe we can make a difference in the lives of these children. I am married to Stan and have 3 sons, who all attended Cumming Elementary (Malcolm, Austin, and Jameson,) and one daughter-in-law, Jessie! I have lived in this community for 43 years and truly believe this school is fantastic, incredible, and unique due to the ways we serve our families!

I grew up in Forsyth County and graduated from The University of North Ga. with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I was a Kindergarten teacher at Mashburn Elem, Pre-K teacher at Concord Baptist Preschool, Special Needs Pre-K Paraprofessional at Mashburn Elem, and hope to retire one day as Pre-K Paraprofessional here at Cumming Elementary School. I’ve been married for 30 years and have 2 sons. My youngest received a B.S. degree in Secondary Education-Biology from UNG and will be teaching 8th grade Science at NFM. My oldest is a General Dentist in Albany, Ga.
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
My name is Karen Greco and I am one of the Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) on our Special Education team. This will be my 10th year at Cumming Elementary and my 11th year in Forsyth County Schools. Prior to becoming an SLP, I was a classroom teacher for 7 years. I live in Dawsonville, GA with my wonderful husband and our doggie. My passion is working with young learners who speak Spanish. I love to help them grow and develop their speech and language skills. I am looking forward to another great year at CES!

Hello! My name is Lindsey Holmes and I am so excited to begin my 4th year as an SLP here at Cumming Elementary, where I attended school as a little girl! Hello! I love working with students' communication skills at Cumming Elementary. I have served at CES for 19 years and in the field of speech and language for 31 years. I earned a dual bachelor's degree in Deaf Education and Elementary Education from Flagler College and a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology from Penn State. I also obtained an Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University. My husband teaches science at Denmark High School and we have three children, all CES graduates!
Hi! I am Wendy McGinnis. I have been a speech-language pathologist at Cumming Elementary since 2017. I have been married to my husband Jeremy since 1997. We have 3 adult children and 2 dogs. I graduated with a master's degree in Communication Disorders in 2000 from Georgia State University. When I am not at school, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family, friends, and dogs.

I absolutely love my job! As a Sign Language Interpreter, I have the wonderful opportunity to work with students in various grades. I have worked in Forsyth County at various schools since 1999. At each school, I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach a sign language class after school for students interested in learning sign language. On a personal note, I have a wonderful husband snd two very sweet fur-babies (Cooper & Daisy).
I am a Georgia native, born and raised. Goooooooo Dawgs.... SEC' EM!!!! I have 3 children, 27 yr. old twins (boy and girl), a 10 yr. boy, and 3 grandchildren. I have been interpreting for 25 years (23 years in the school system) and absolutely love what I do. My spare time is spent at the ball fields and with family. My name is Stephanie Gillis and I am honored to be joining the Cumming Elementary team as a Sign Language Interpreter! I graduated from Valdosta State University with my Bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language and Interpreting in 2013, where I then began my career as an Educational Interpreter. I live in Roswell with my husband, Liam, and our 2 pups, Finn and Brody. When I’m not at school, I enjoy being on the river, roller skating, and visiting all the local coffee shops!
