• Chess Club at Daves Creek Elementary

    Daves Creek Elementary K-5 were State Champions 2015, 2016 and 2018; K-3 were 2017 State Champions


    Championship Chess presents a systematic, fun way to build chess skills during chess instruction and supervised play.

    Studies show that chess improves math, reading and problem-solving and our methods connect these academic benefits.  Join our clubs supervised by nationally ranked chess expert Chris Wiley and his team of coaches. 




    Cost for this session $249

    MONDAYS after school Spring session dates  01-13-2020 to 04-20-2020 with no chess club meetings on January 20, February 17 and April 6.

    FRIDAYS after school – Spring 01-10-2020 to 04-17-2020 with no chess club meetings on February 14, March 13, and April 10.



    Time: Chess starts after school dismissal and ends promptly at 4:15 pm. Parents must be on time, see below. 

    Who can play: Any student in 1st through 5th Younger students may join only if they know how the pieces move and capture. For questions about your child’s ability email chess@championshipchess.net



    Important   Midnight Registration Deadline Dates: Monday group is January 8th and Friday group is January 5th

    Chess club ends promptly at 4:15 and all parents must be waiting in their cars by 4:15 along the side in the bus lane.

     School Policies: Any child not picked up by the time the carpool line clears will be taken to Dolphin Cove. No exceptions. Parents will be required to pay $15 to the Dolphin Cove aftercare at that time. As a reminder, no child can be picked up by another parent without written permission or unless they are listed on a child’s check-in/check out card.

    Championship Chess Policy: Any child picked up late a second time may be asked to withdraw from chess club for the remainder of the session without a refund.

    Registered families have full access to our Championship Chess Website and World of Chess. When you register, add a Username and Password for your child. With this login information every child can enter the World of Chess to watch and learn from videos and activities, practice for challenges, compete for Achievement Cards and practice what they’ve learned in online games. Parents can track information on the site and receive email notification of their child’s achievements.
