My name is Brittany Berry, and I was born and raised in Piqua, Ohio. Upon my arrival in the great state of Georgia, I immediately began working in a third-grade classroom in Fulton County. This will be my eighteenth-year teaching, and my eighth year teaching the best grade ever!

I met my husband in Ohio, and we have been married for thirteen years. We have three adorable and somewhat rotten German Shepherds: Brady, Brinley, and Bentley A.K.A. Baby Shark.

I enjoy reading every night, walking my pups, and watching college football. Roll Tide!

Hi! I am Janie Burgh. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA. I graduated from Thiel College, Greenville, PA with a BA in Communications. I received my teaching certificate from Fitchburg State University, in Massachusetts. I earned my Master of Education from Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids, Michigan. My husband Dale and I have lived in many different states, but Georgia has been our favorite.

I have taught for 25 years, the past 9 at Haw Creek. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. By far, 4th grade is my absolute favorite. I love 4th grade curriculum and l am very confident in the material I teach. I bring a positive attitude and enthusiasm to my class. I love when students bring those qualities to my class.

My husband Dale and I have a daughter, Ainsley, who is in eighth grade this year. We have a Mini Bernedoodle named Georgia.

We are huge Navy Midshipman fans, as well as Steelers fans. We love to go to Braves games and watch the Falcons. In my free time, I am taking my daughter to cheer practice or watching her cheer. I am looking forward to this new 2024-2025 4th grade adventure.

After living and teaching in Florida for 17 years, my wife and I decided to move to Georgia. We've settled here in Forsyth County and our family has been a lot happier escaping the unrelenting heat (and hurricanes) of SW Florida.

Hello Huskies! I am so excited to join Haw Creek as a 4th grade teacher.
I graduated from Troy University with a degree in journalism and public relations. I worked in non-profit and higher education fundraising for eight years. I am a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and most recently worked at the Harbert College of Business at Auburn
University. War Eagle!
After taking a professional career pause to stay at home with my children for eight years, I began working as a substitute at Haw Creek in 2023. My husband Geoff and I have two daughters, Alice and Rosemary, who are very excited that mom gets to join them at school each day as a Husky. I love spending time with my family and our two cocker spaniel puppies, Junebug and Cricket. In my free time, I enjoy live music, walking outdoors, trying new recipes, and cheering on the Auburn Tigers.

Hey Huskies! My name is Skylar Tatum, and I am so excited to be on the 4th grade team! I graduated from the University of North Georgia with a dual bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education with a Reading Endorsement. My passion for teaching started when I was very young. As soon as I was old enough for a job, I became an after-school teacher at Chestatee Elementary for 5 years. I graduated from North Forsyth High School in 2017. Becoming a teacher in my hometown has always been my dream, and now my dream is coming true! Also, I love to go to the mountains for mini vacations in my free time with my husband. I cannot wait to meet my students and create a positive classroom environment where students feel welcomed and loved!

Hi! My name is Katie Tyrie, and I’m so excited to join the Haw Creek community!  

I’m originally from Georgia, so I’ve loved living near family again since returning a year ago. I attended Clemson University (Go Tigers!) for both my bachelor’s and my master’s degrees, and I spent my first 7 years teaching in South Carolina. Then I taught for 5 years at an international school in Bogota, Colombia. I have a gifted endorsement and will be working toward my ESOL endorsement this year. 

My husband and I met while living in Colombia, and we absolutely love traveling to new places whenever we have the chance. I also love all sorts of outdoor activities and sports, cooking, reading, and listening to live music.  

I cannot wait to welcome my first Husky students & start the 4th grade adventure together!
