Internship Forsyth (Work-Based Learning) opportunities in Forsyth County Schools are structured experiences that connect a student's career goal and career pathway with a productive work environment. Students in IF may be paid or unpaid.The program provides students with opportunities for instruction not only in academics but also in occupational skills, career exploration, and guidance in identifying employment and educational goals. Students have the opportunity to connect what they learn in school with work-site application, enabling a smooth transition into the work force and/or education beyond high school.
Intership Forsyth program:
Students must be at least 15 years of age to participate in Internship Forsyth. Consult your school counselor, a Career Development Coordinator, or Valery L. Lowe (firstname.lastname@example.org /College and Career Development) for further information.The application process:
- on-the-job training guided by a skilled work-site mentor
training based on competency standards developed by industry and labor
student support through a work-site mentor, a school Career Development Coordinator, and a Career Development Specialist at the district level.

- Review of discipline record, attendance, and semester averages
