DeSana Middle School Assistant Principals

    epperson Epperson, Sharon

I am excited to start my 32nd year in education.  The last three years in middle school and helping to establish DeSana Middle School has been a pleasure!  As an assistant principal, I work with creating the master schedule to serve our students and honor the middle school model of teaming as much as possible.  My teaching experience was in high school where I taught a variety of science courses [anatomy, biology, chemistry, physical science] to a variety of levels of students, up to Advanced Placement of the College Board.  I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Armstrong State College, Masters of Secondary Science Education from Piedmont College and my leadership certification from the University of Georgia.

My husband, Kurt, and I have been married since 1986.  We have two wonderful daughters who are successful graduates of Forsyth County Schools.  I have recently experienced a life changing event and am now the proud grandparent to a baby girl!

It is my pleasure and privilege to work with you and your family!

I am excited to join the DeSana Middle School family and begin my 20th year in education. I recently served as the administrative support at Midway Elementary, as well as previously taught 4th and 5th grades in Cobb and Cherokee counties before making my way to Forsyth where I continued teaching in the classroom, served as a special education interrelated teacher, instructional coach for special education, and as an intervention specialist.

I am originally from Vero Beach, Florida, but have lived in Georgia for over 20 years. I graduated from Piedmont College with a degree in Early Childhood Education and received a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University. I have also added special education to my teaching certificate and earned a Specialist degree in Curriculum & Instruction. I am married and have three girls, Hannah, Alex, and Rylee. My wife, Erin, is an interrelated teacher at Silver City Elementary in Forsyth county.

I am excited about the opportunity to serve at DeSana and look forward to getting to know each of you throughout the school year. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me through email or by phone. Let me thank you in advance for all of your support!

The 2019-2020 school year will be my 15th year as an educator. While I have been at DeSana since its inception, this will be my first year serving in the role as Assistant Administrator. I was a Health and Physical Education teacher, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach the previous three years. Prior to coming to DeSana, I was a teacher and coach at a private school in Atlanta and with Fulton County Schools.

I received my Bachelors and Masters degrees from Georgia State University in Health and Physical Education. I also attended Mercer University where I graduated with my Specialist degree in Educational Leadership. I am originally from Stone Mountain, but currently live in Johns Creek with my wife Rita and son Lucas (5).

I am excited for my new role at DeSana and can't wait for another year with all the Dragons!
