Hi everyone! My name is Manny Avella, and I will be teaching 4th grade this upcoming school year. I recently graduated the University of North Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood / Special Education with an endorsement in reading. In my free time I enjoy reading, exercising, and playing with my sweet Dalmatian. I am incredibly excited to be joining Silvery City and can not wait to meet everyone!

It is my greatest passion to steer every student toward their path to success and understanding with fun and hands-on activities. This will be my ninth year of teaching, and I look forward to a great first year at Silver City! I have been married to my wonderful husband for three years, and we have a little boy, Zeke. I love music, trivia, and travelling. Some of my favorite travel destinations include Italy, London, Ireland, and New York. My name is Heather Honea, and I am so excited to be joining the fourth grade team here at Silver City. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Truett McConnell University, and I have endorsements in Reading, Special Education, and ESOL . This is my 4th year teaching in Forsyth County, and my 9th year teaching overall. I grew up in North Forsyth, so I am glad to be coming home and teaching in the community in which I was raised. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy traveling, cooking, kayaking, and spending time with my family and friends. I am thrilled to be a Comet, and I look forward to a wonderful school year. 350370 Denise Johnson I’ve been part of the Silver City family since 2008, and I have taught grades 2nd through 5th during my career. In 2005, after leaving the IT world, I graduated from Brenau University with a B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education. Teaching reading and writing and helping my teammates has always been my passion, so I furthered my education and completed a Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy in August 2007 and a Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership in 2012 from Walden University. I am the mom of two amazing boys, Joey (27) and Luke (12). I have taught K, 2nd, 4th, and gifted. I am excited to start a new year and look forward to fostering a love for learning in each child that I teach. I have a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College, and Master of Education from Lesley University. I received my gifted endorsement in 2007.
