Non-traditional Route to Teacher Certification
Powered by Forsyth Teacher Academy
The Forsyth Teacher Academy Non-traditional Route to Certification program is a job-embedded, evidence-based program for teacher preparation.
We provide qualified candidates with a route to obtain teacher certification in their degree or professional field. Designed as a two-year program, candidates recommended by one of our schools will teach with the support of a clinical supervisor, peer coach, and job-alike mentor while taking instructional pedagogy courses and attending teaching seminars.

The Forsyth Teacher Academy is committed to providing our teachers with the necessary tools to engage diverse learners.
Our candidates learn to create positive learning environments, teach diverse learners, use research based strategies, engage in meaningful assessment, and reflect upon their practice in support of our district Learner Profile.
We believe effective beginning teachers have the content knowledge, teaching skill, and reflective dispositions to positively impact student learning.
We facilitate candidate growth by providing a high quality, comprehensive, coherent, sequenced approach to educator preparation.
We impact student engagement, achievement, growth, and equity by improving teacher-student interactions through coaching and clinical observations.
We sustain the momentum of candidate growth through a monitored continuous cycle of improvement supported by high quality clinical practitioners, mentors, and coaches.
