For 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Students
DECA is an organization that encourages students to develop skills in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. DECA helps students by increasing leadership skills and confidence by providing experiences in which students can grow and show their professionalism. DECA meets once a month at 8 am in the Media Center. OMS DECA is led by Mrs. Billups, the OMS marketing teacher. In DECA, students will be encouraged to compete in marketing competitions such as mock job interviews, community service campaigns, sports marketing events and much more. DECA members also have an opportunity to work at the NEW school store (coming late 2022/early 2023) where they learn responsibility, customer service, and employability skills.
Students can join DECA by completing a membership application (the deadline is 8/31/22) from Mrs. Billups in room 510. The cost for membership is $35 and includes a chapter t-shirt. Payments can be made by My Payments Plus, Cash or Check. Students can apply to become a DECA Officer by completing an officer application (the deadline is 8/19/22). Once they have returned their application form(s), students should check their itslearning messages for updates on meetings, events, and competitions.
Competitions are open for ALL PAID members of DECA.
Students may compete on a local, regional, and state level.
Additional Fees are required for all competitions.

- Spring Sports event (TBD)
- Assist/attend various FCHS DECA events
