Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Kindergarten Registration


    Q: Does my child need to attend the registration appointment?     

    A: No, but you are welcome to bring your child to your appointment if you would like.


    Q: Should I still make an appointment to register if I do not have all of the required documents?

    A: Yes, please make an appointment to register even if you do not have all of the required documents. If you are missing any documents at the end of your appointment, you will be emailed an upload link.  This link is used for you to send us any missing documents.  It is important that you start the registration process as soon as possible so that we will be expecting your child and so that you may receive information on events from your child’s school.


    Q: I was incomplete at my Registration appointment. Do I need an appointment to return my missing documents?

    A: No, an appointment is not needed to return documents. Please come to our office anytime during the hours of Monday-Friday 7:30am-12:00pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm (please check our website for holiday closings and summer hours) with your missing documents or your may upload your missing documents through the link that was emailed to you after your appointment.


    Q: I have completed enrolling my child for Kindergarten. What should I do next?

    A: Please check your school’s website for information regarding Kindergarten events. You may also follow them on Facebook and/or Twitter.


    Q: My child currently is enrolled in Forsyth County Schools for Special Needs Preschool. Do I need to make an appointment to register for Kindergarten?

    A: No, you do not need to re-register. Please contact your child’s current school to make sure your child’s immunizations (Georgia Form 3231) and hearing/vision/dental/nutrition form (Georgia Form 3300) are up to date.  If not, please provide an updated Georgia Form 3231 and/or Georgia Form 3300 to your child’s current school.

    Q: Can I request a specific teacher for my child?

    A: Please contact your child’s school for assistance.


    Q: When will I tour the school and meet my child’s teacher?

    A: Please check your school’s website for information regarding Kindergarten events and Open House.  Please contact your child's school if you have any questions.


    Q: How do I obtain my child’s bus information?

    A: Please check Parent Portal ( or the Transportation website ( for bus information.  Please contact your child's school or the Transportation Department if you have any questions.
