Forsyth-Cumming Optimist Club Scholarship
Requirements:
1. Open to all students who have been a Forsyth County resident for the past two (2) years, Member of the current graduating class intending to graduate from a Forsyth County High School, or equivalent,
2. Attend an accredited college, university, or technical school,
3. Demonstrate that a financial need exists. Applicant must provide a copy of completed Financial Aid Form (FAFSA) or parent’s 2018-2019 Federal Income Tax return. **
4. Scholastic ability – demonstrated by (a) grade point average and (b) scores from SAT, ACT or other recognized college testing program.
5. Demonstrate leadership and good moral character,
6. Letter of References – at least three (3), one of which must be from school or educator. Family references are not allowed.
7. Submit application through school’s guidance counselor.
8. Homeschool students – mail application directly to Forsyth-Cumming Optimist Club, PO Box 111, Cumming GA 30028

Will Davison Memorial Scholarship
The Will Davison Memorial Scholarship was founded in the memory of William
Clay Davison. Will was born on March 1, 2007. He passed away suddenly on
July 25, 2007. His life was short, but his legacy will remain true as his memory
will continue to give to others. It has been important to his family that young
people have the ability to pursue professions and academic careers in fields that
serve others. Thus, the WDMSF has been established through contributions from
the community and loved ones to maintain the memory of this young man.April 15, 2020
FCREA Scholarship - Forsyth County Retired Educators Association
This scholarship awards $1,000 to one senior from each high school in Forsyth CO. Students must be in good academic standing, attending college in the Fall, and pursuing a career in education. Applications are available in the counseling office. Please see Ms. Swinney for further details.

Joyce Hawkins Scholarship for Outstanding Citizenship and Community Service
The top 2 recipients will each receive a $2,000 award. Although academics and financial need are important and will be reviewed, the overriding criteria will include the applicant’s community service and involvement as well as their ability to build good citizenship within the community. All Seniors are encouraged to make application.

Sawnee Woman’s Club Scholarship
Forsyth County graduating seniors have an opportunity to apply for a merit based college scholarship. This year we are awarding 2 - $1,000 scholarships. Eligibility requires the student to be a Forsyth County resident, have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher, and that they are continuing their education in the fall of 2020. Our scholarships are awarded to students exemplifying exceptional service to their community. Please see the counseling office for the application.

Joe Dumphy Memorial Golf Scholarship

Vietnam Veterans of America-Cumming chapter
The Cumming Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America will award $1,500 scholarships to 5 deserving, college-bound Forsyth County Public or Private High School seniors.To be eligible, high school candidates must be US citizens and the children, grandchildren or great grandchildren of US Military veterans. Potential scholarship recipients must be accepted as a full-time student at an accredited 2 or 4 year post-secondary institution.
The Chapter Scholarship Committee will base its selection on the following criteria:
1. Scholastic Excellence
2. School and Community involvement
3. Financial Need
In addition, each applicant must submit a minimum 500 word original essay answering the question why “Freedom isn’t Free.”

The Richard B. Neville, Jr., Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Judge Richard Neville.

The Levine Scholars Program is UNC Charlotte’s most prestigious merit scholarship program that was established in 2009 by benefactors Sandra and Leon Levine. Emory Scholar
To be guaranteed consideration for the Emory University Scholars selection process (including Emory College, Oxford College, and the Goizueta Business School), students must submit all required application materials by the November 15 Emory University Scholars Programs deadline. Applicants will need to select one of Emory's three admission decision plans (Early Decision I, Early Decision II, or Regular Decision). UNG Cadet Scholarships
University of North Georgia Military Scholarship (UNGMS)
- A recipient of this scholarship could make $30,000 - $40,000 over four years as a Cadet. The scholarship pays for room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms and fees. The total worth of the UNGMS is over $70,000.
Army ROTC Scholarships
- The recipient of this scholarship may be cadets who participate in a Senior Army ROTC program. This scholarship differs from the UNGMS in what it covers: tuition and fees or room and board, up to $10,000.
Leadership Scholarships
- Recipients of this scholarship may be incoming Cadets based on merit and financial need. These scholarships range from $500-$3,000 and are funded by alumni donations to help off-set the cost of college for incoming Cadets. For Georgia residents (not on UNGMS), they are also eligible for the Georgia ROTC and Future Officer Grant ranging from $1,500 to $4,000 a year.

Washington Youth Tour
Sawnee EMC invites local high school juniors and seniors to apply for the trip of a lifetime. Two students will be selected to represent Sawnee on an all-expense paid trip to our nation’s capital and will join hundreds of other students from Georgia and across the country June 18-25, 2020.

State Voice of Democracy Programs Awards
The national first-place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first-place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.

Gettysburg College
STEM Scholarship
With help from a generous grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Gettysburg College is offering a STEM scholarship program for students interested in STEM fields (Biology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics). STEM Scholars will have their full demonstrated financial need met for all four years with no loans, and have the opportunity to:
- Attend a STEM-focused pre-orientation workshop with other STEM Scholars and enroll in an exclusive First-Year Seminar taught by STEM faculty.
- Participate in bi-monthly luncheons with STEM faculty and a variety of learning activities on and off campus.
- Engage in various STEM opportunities, including faculty-student research, peer-mentoring, preferential residence in Gettysburg College’s Science House, as well as work-related internship opportunities with institutional industry partners.

The Bryan Scholarship

North Georgia Community Foundation
We have more than 50 scholarship funds established by generous donors who believe helping students achieve their dreams of continuing their education is instrumental in the future sustainability of our region. Each scholarship has its own specific purpose and eligibility criteria, and awards vary in size depending on the amount available in each particular fund.
March 16: Deadline at 5:00 p.m. to submit most applications to NGCF. Be sure to check specific scholarship deadlines as they can vary per award.
Bridging the Dream Scholarship Program
We’re looking for inspiring students who work hard, have an interesting story to tell, and are gifted or skilled in some way to win $25,000. Students must be nominated by their counselor. Please see Ms. Swinney in the counseling office for more details.

VFW Patriotic Art Competition
Each year, more than 3,500 high school students from across the country participate in the VFW Auxiliary Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest. The contest began in 1979 to recognize up-and-coming artists and encourage patriotism in youth. Scholarships range from $500-$15,000.

Middle Tennessee State Biology Majors
Open to outstanding incoming freshman students majoring in Biology who have a demonstrated interest in the life sciences with career goals in the biological sciences. In order to receive an award, a student must have a minimum composite ACT score of 25 and a minimum high school GPA of 3.5. Awards winners will be determined based on ACT scores, GPA, and the student's responses on the application form. Please see your counselor for the application form.

University of North Georgia Military Scholarship
Each year the State of Georgia awards 42 outstanding high school seniors the University of North Georgia Military Scholarship. The UNGMS is a full four year scholarship that pays tuition, fees, books, room, meal, and uniforms. Worth over four year approx. $70,000.

Chairish Scholarship is a scholarship designed to support students from diverse backgrounds and students who are majoring in design-related fields such as architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and engineering fields.
The Chairish “Design Your Future” Scholarship ($2,500) minimum eligibility requirements:
- Open to graduating high school seniors of any major
- Students are asked to submit a 500-word essay designing their ideal future and their plans to achieve that dream
- Minimum 2.0/4.0 cumulative GPA required

The Classroom to Classroom Scholarship
Once a year, Education.com awards a graduating high school student with a $5,000 scholarship to further their educational goals. To apply, students must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Open to students from all states.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Accepted as a full-time student at a 2-year, 4-year, or technical vocational college or university in the United States for the 2019-2020 academic year. We will require proof of enrollment.

EGIA Foundation Scholarship Program
The EGIA Foundation Scholarship Program, established to recognize the excellent and deserving students seeking careers in HVAC, is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program which will provide up to twenty $2,500 individual awards to students nationwide.

2020 Young Scholars Program Summer Internship
Then 2020 YSP is a premier 6 week internship program held from June 1st to July 10th on the University of Georgia’s Athens, Griffin and Tifton Campuses. This program is for Georgia’s high school juniors and seniors interested in exploring Science, Technology, and Math through research in agricultural, food and environmental sciences.
This program is delivered through the Office of Diversity Affairs in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Application requirements are as follows:

• Two letters of recommendation from science or math teachers by January 31, 2020
• One official school transcript by January 31, 2020

The SSS program provides full financial assistance to qualified Georgia residents who have an interest in military service as well as a quality college education. The scholarships cover tuition, fees, room, board, uniforms and provide a stipend for books and Supplies.
REQUIREMENTS
- A cumulative 2.5 high school GPA.
- Either a combined 800 (critical reading and math) SAT score or 17 ACT composite score
- Meet all requirements for enlistment into the Georgia Army National Guard and must serve as an enlisted member
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 at GMC to retain the scholarship
- Recipients must be members of the Corps of Cadets and participate in Army ROTC while attending GMC

For thirty two years, the Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association essay contest has exposed thousands of high school seniors and their families to the life safety and property protection attributes of fire sprinklers.
